Children’s creations go on permanent display
The Love Us Back Heart Tile Workshop is returning to The Woodlands Children’s Museum this Februaryand giving families an opportunity to add their children’s creations to an ongoing exhibit.
Workshops are available at 10 and 11 a.m., and noon and 1 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 15 and 22. During each 45-minute session, participants will create a mosaic heart tile that will be permanently displayed at the museum. They also can design a small heart to take home.
Each workshop is $45, which includes admission to the museum. Pre-registration and payment are required. Online registration is available, or families can call 281-465-0955.
Workshop proceeds support the museum, which is a nonprofit organization.
“Since we introduced these workshops, we’ve found it has been very meaningful to families to see creations permanently displayed in the museum,” Executive Director Angela Colton said. “It also has meant a lot to them to know that by supporting the museum, they are making a positive difference in their community. Every day we’re open, the museum helps young visitors explore, play, stretch their imaginations and create meaningful memories.”
The heart tile workshops provide an opportunity for children and their parents to engage together to create a lasting piece of art. The sessions are open to all ages.
All activities will take place at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381.
The Woodlands Children’s Museum is recommended for ages 7 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Throw Me Something, Mister!! — Mardi Gras is coming to The Woodlands Children’s Museum Feb. 25
Families are invited to “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” (Let the good times roll!) at The Woodlands Children’s Museum Tuesday, Feb. 25.
The museum will go all out to celebrate Mardi Gras that day with whimsical, child-friendly indoor parades at 10:45 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:15 p.m., while helping children create their own Mardi Gras masks and noisemakers and delight in a piece of King cake, generously donated by Montgomery Bakehouse.
“There’s something about the pageantry, the colors and the pure joy of Mardi Gras parade that truly delights little ones,” Executive Director Angela Colton said. “Mardi Gras is also an opportunity to introduce children to the history and traditions associated with this special day.”
Mardi Gras is included in the museum’s regular $7 admission for visitors age 1 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
