Heart Tile Workshops are available July 13, 20 and 27
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – June 27, 2019 – Children will have an opportunity to create mosaic heart tiles that will go on permanent display at The Woodlands Children’s Museumduring the museum’s Heart Tile Workshops this summer.
Workshops are available at 10 and 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. July 13, 20 and 27. Each session will be 45 minutes. In addition to their mosaic creation, participants also will design a small clay heart they can take home. The workshops will allow children to paint, stamp and embellish hearts and personalize them with their name and the date.
Families who participated in the Heart Tile Workshops last year said it was a fun way to introduce their budding Picassos and Renoirs to the delights of making art.
“My son wasn’t much into art, until he came to the museum and participated in the tile workshop,” Erika Bergeron said. “The workshop introduced him to the world of art. It was great to see him experience the joy and excitement of creating something of beauty and meaning. He was very excited about doing this piece and having it live in the museum.”
Gayla McDougal, who brings her twin granddaughters to the museum, said she appreciates how it offers an opportunity for children to learn and express their creativity.
“It is a wonderful addition to the community, and we are happy to support it,” she said. “They are so great with the children.”
The Heart Tile Workshops are available for a limited time, as part of the museum’s ninth anniversary celebration. The workshops are open to all ages, with younger children requiring adult assistance.
Pre-registration and advance payment are required: Call 281-465-0955 or visitwoodlandschildrensmuseum.org/product/heart-tile-workshop. Space is limited per session.

Funds raised through the Heart Tile Workshops will go toward exhibit improvements.
“The families who participate in our Heart Tile Workshops play an important role in helping us provide high-quality exhibits here at the museum,” Executive Director Angela Colton said. “That’s why their creations become a permanent part of our museum; we want to recognize their ongoing impact on what we do here.”
The Heart Tile Workshops will take place at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, The Woodlands, Texas 77381.
