THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Nov. 27, 2018 – Children can experience the joy of creative play, sing, and lose themselves in their imaginations during holiday workshops at The Woodlands Children’s Museum.
This season’s offerings include the Drop and Shop Workshops, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec 20 and Dec. 21, and Winter FUNcaTion, 9 a.m.-noon Jan. 3 and 4.
“We have designed our upcoming workshops to capture the magic and excitement of the holiday season,” said Angela Colton, executive director of the museum. “Whether they are fashioning colorful works of art, singing holiday songs, or nibbling delicious Christmas cookies, children will be creating special memories while they are here.”
The museum’s popular Drop and Shop Workshops, for participants ages 4-8, are designed to give parents time to do their last-minute shopping while the museum’s little elves host their children in a festive holiday setting. Children will have opportunities to create and embellish special art projects that they can give as gifts—or their families can save them as cherished family treasures.
Each Drop and Shop session is $49 for museum members and $69 for non-members.
Winter FUNcaTion sessions are available for children in three age groups: 4, 5-6 and 7-8.
The sessions for 4-year-olds use winter-themed storybooks as a foundation. Children will enjoy hearing stories—a different one each day—making winter snacks, singing songs and creating projects that enhance and strengthen the stories.
Sessions for older children, both 5- and 6-year-olds and 7- and 8-year-olds, include Snowed-in Science, set for Jan. 3, and Scientifically ARTrageous on Jan. 4.
During Snowed-in Science, children can celebrate the start of the winter season. The museum has shoveled up activities for a blizzard of hands-on fun and discovery. Activities will include lessons about winter folklore, snowmen, the winter solstice and more. Children are invited to bundle up and dig in.
Scientifically ARTrageous was designed with children’s love of exploration, experimentation and discovery in mind. This workshop features art experiences and experiments that introduce participants to basic concepts of science.
Each Winter FUNcaTion session is $39 for museum members and $59 for non-members.
