THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Feb. 21, 2018 – Families will have a chance to discover interesting facts about health, fitness and nutrition when The Woodlands Children’s Museum hosts Fitness Frenzy from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24.
This one-day fitness expo at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, will feature area organizations and vendors in a Winter Olympics-themed environment.
“We’re so grateful to the community businesses and organizations that are supporting Fitness Frenzy,” Angela Colton, executive director of the museum, said. “We think it’s a great opportunity for families to delve into healthy eating and physical activity in fun ways.”
Fitness Frenzy sponsors this year include, Houston Dynamo/Dash Youth Soccer Club, Junior League of The Woodlands, Chick-fil-A The Woodlands, VillaSport Athletic Club, Juice Plus, Tropical Smoothie Café, Urgent Care for Kids, Visit the Woodlands (The Woodlands Township Convention and Visitors Bureau) and RIDE Indoor Cycling.
The guest speaker during the expo will be Goalie Coach Keith “Muck” Johnson of the Houston Dynamo/Dash Youth Soccer Club. Johnson has played more than 100 international games with the U.S. Paralympics team.
Fitness Frenzy also provides an opportunity for children to join a soccer activity presented by Houston Dynamo/Dash and meet the club’s mascot, the Rec. Rhino.
Fitness Frenzy ties in with the museum’s Playing for Keeps and Good to Grow! initiatives. Playing for Keeps, founded by the Association of Children’s Museums, promotes and protects the role of free play in today’s society.
Good to Grow!, which is guided by the ACM, supports the efforts of children’s museums to provide healthy choices and activities for children and families.
The Woodlands Children’s Museum is recommended for ages 7 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Fitness Frenzy is included in the museum’s regular admission, which is $6 for adults and children ages 1 and older.
