CONROE, Texas – Nov. 9, 2017 – The Montgomery County Choral Society’s next concert, “Your Christmas Favorites,” is designed to get audience members in the Christmas spirit.
“Bring everyone you know to this feel-good show of the season,” said Craig Stephan, the society’s associate conductor and accompanist. “In addition to hearing many of the holiday tunes we’ve all grown up with, the audience will have an opportunity to perform with the choir during the always-popular sing-along portion of the concert.”
Stephan said he believes Houston needs this type of concert as a means to help families recover from the aftermath of Harvey. “The storm got everyone out of step, so we decided our Christmas celebration needs to be comforting, warm and snuggly,” he said.
The Choral Society is preparing a long list of songs for the show. Included in the mix will be “Sleigh Ride,” a re-imagined version of “Jingle Bells” and Stephan’s mother’s favorite holiday tune “The Christmas Song,”
“The ultimate goal of the concert is for people to have a lot of fun and really feel the Christmas spirit,” he said.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Conroe, 600 North Main St. in Conroe. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for teens 13 to 18 and $5 for children 3 to 12. There is no charge for children 2 and under.
The Montgomery County Choral Society is currently in its 46th season – and will return to the stage in the spring for the Rising Stars & Legends Event in March and its “Bach to Bop Selections” in April.
Tickets for the concert may be purchased through the website at mcchoral.org, from any Montgomery County Choral Society member, or by calling Stephan at 936-756-3395, Ext. 118.
