Pure magic can happen when you blend natural bees wax, crystallized tree sap, various pigments and awe-inspiring imagination!
And, acclaimed Houston mixed media and abstract artist, Salli Babbitt plans to bring that ‘magic’ – better known as Encaustic Painting – to the Conroe Art League Gallery, March 28.
Babbitt will present an opportunity for local artists to learn how to use the ancient technique and create “encaustic” paintings. Her workshop will provide three and a half hours of melting, carving, building, and adding pastels and more, as artists work to create two interesting “projects” on 8″ x 10″ panels.
