Welcome to the world of fantastic fun, fellowship and friends! If you haven’t experienced the nostalgic, yet contemporary world of square dancing, it’s time to take a look at the video below, then get out and visit the Conroe Country Cousins Square Dance Club on Thursday nights at the Lake Conroe KOA in the Magnolia Room, at 19785 State Highway 105 just east of Montgomery.
By the way, when you get to meet the highly enthusiastic gentleman in a big cowboy hat, calling and singing instructions, you’re meeting Bernie Youngblood, who says he’s enjoyed being a square dance caller since 1974. One of the greatest thing about square dancing, Bernie says is “When you square dance, you know your wife or dance partner will be treated like a lady.”
For a great, inexpensive evening out for young and mature alike, square dancing provides lively and energetic entertainment. And, if you’re new to square dancing, Country Cousins Club offers lessons to get you started quickly so you can begin to enjoy square dancing as soon as possible.
The next set of lessons will start in October, and to get the fun started, there will be two free introductory dances: The first is on September 19 and the second is on September 26, from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. Lessons begin October 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and will continue until March 2014.
