Floral Inspirations

Sweet Broom photo
Sweet Broom is equally happy in planters and in flower beds.

‘Tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes!
~William Wordsworth, 1798

When planted in mass, the Sweet Broom is a densely branched evergreen shrub that produces an avalanche of bright yellow, delightfully fragrant flowers. Their fragrance is a very strong sweet citrus scent that reaches out to you in a way to satisfy the soul.

This flowering deciduous shrub, known also as the Easter Broom, dons upright arching branches, fan-like leaves and those lovely yellow blossoms that appear in late winter to early spring. It is great for
dry hillside plantings, borders, ground cover or containers. It grows to a height of six to eight feet, and requires very little care once established.

Did You Know? Legend has it the Sweet Broom is a great mosquito repellent and it is often bundled into bouquets for outdoor weddings.
