7th Annual Great American Duck Race set for July 4 in The Woodlands

The Grand Prize – a 2015 Camaro Convertible – is sponsored by Donnie Buckalew of Buckalew Chevrolet in Conroe. If the pre-chosen number prior to the event is one of the first 50 ducks to complete the race, it will win the car.

Montgomery County Emergency Assistance is proud to have Buckalew Chevrolet sponsor the Grand Prize in the 2014 MCEA Great American Duck Race Friday, July 4th at the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center in The Woodlands, Village of Creekside.

An additional 100 plus prizes will also be awarded, including four tickets to the Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Lobsterfest Golf Tournament and Lobster Dinner, concert tickets, patio furniture, jewelry, many name brand products, gift certificates and more.

The Duck Race is an annual fundraising event that helps assist residents throughout the county with rent or utility assistance, food, clothing, prescriptions, and (new this summer), victims of fire disasters. Montgomery County fire disaster victims will be served 24/7 with lodging, case management, and other basic needs through MCEA.

Last year’s event was a great success, and duck sales before the race soared past expected goals,” said Margie Taylor, MCEA Director of Marketing and Development, adding, “Be sure to watch the exciting video from last year.” Click HERE to find the video.

A $5 donation gets you in the race. A “Quack Pack” of 6 ducks may be purchased for $25. Online donations to “Adopt a Duck” can be made at www.DuckRace.com/TheWoodlands.

MCEA is proud to recognize Entergy as the Presenting Sponsor. Entergy partners with MCEA to assist clients with utility bills. The Power to Care supplement on Entergy bills is distributed by MCEA throughout the county to help the elderly and disabled with their bills. Other sponsoring partners include Praxair, Consolidated Communications, Nova, Woodforest Bank, Kroger, Braintek, and James and Janet Stilwell. Sponsorships are still available, but time is slipping away to get branding on shirts, 10,000 flyers, and media.
