Organizers of the Houston Classic Weekend are gearing up for one of the biggest motoring weekends in the state, staged at La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa in Montgomery, with Montgomery County Emergency Assistance named as the local beneficiary charity.

Running from May 2-4, The Houston Classic Weekend is a celebration of vintage motoring, with something for the whole family. The weekend includes a Friday morning driving tour through the Piney Woods of Texas, followed by an afternoon of golf at the hotel, and a reception showcasing many of the Concours vehicles, as well as auction vehicles staged around the hotel marina.

Saturday’s activities include Worldwide Auctioneers’ 13th annual catalog auction sale, The Houston Classic Auction, with more than 100 of the world’s finest and rarest motorcars lining up to go under the auction hammer. Saturday’s events conclude with the “Cowboys and Cars Charity Strolling Dinner and Dance,” benefitting the Concours charities.

The Concours d’Elegance of Texas will be Sunday, May 4, a spectacular gathering of vintage motorcars, racecars and antique motorcycles, assembled from collections across the country to be judged for appearance and originality. The event is held on the golf course and includes a car club display area as well as food, drink and exhibitors’ booths. Festivities include a flyover by the Lone Star Freedom Flight Formation and the judging awards presentation.

Volunteers are needed Sunday to participate as car ambassadors and marshals, as well as for set up/tear down. Volunteers get FREE admission!

Tickets and souvenir catalogs for the Sunday event are available at the MCEA office by calling 936-539-1096, ext. 224 or by emailing margie@mcea-tx.org. Proceeds from both the ticket sales and the catalog benefit MCEA.
