18th Annual Children’s Festival second weekend in November

Balloons, face painting, petting zoo, carnival games and a teddy bear clinic are just the beginning of the fun planned for the 18th Annual Children’s Festival, presented by ExxonMobil, November 9-10, at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

The Woodlands Children's Museum graphicChildren from pre-K age through intermediate are sure to find exciting activities to tap into their talents and stimulate their creativity as they venture into the Wells Fargo Fun Zone where they will learn hat-making, kite-building, panning for gold and a variety of additional activities.

In the Anadarko Science Zone, they will create works of sidewalk chalk art and explore the elements of art at Arts Alley by making crafts they can take home. They will learn about lines, colors, shapes, patterns, unity, balance and more by using elements to make imaginative creations.

As they continue their hunt for excitement, children will discover a constant exploration of games and amusements organized by local businesses with activities including carnival games, fashion show, arts and crafts, instrument petting zoo, coloring contest and more. At the end of the Activity Tent, they can hop aboard Stan’s Train for a ride full of fun for the whole family.

The Healthy KidZone invites them to participate in a variety of physical activities and meet professional sports teams. Kids can also learn the techniques of martial arts, explore an ambulance, visit the teddy bear clinic and play a giant game “Operation.” For added adventure, kids looking for a challenge can roll, flip, run and spin on water without getting wet in a giant Bubble Runner and enjoy the Bumper Boats.

Admission to the festival is $8 per person in advance or $10 per person at the door. Children under two are admitted free. The daily admission fee includes every show and activity, so parents don’t spend the day dealing with tickets, tokens or endless lines. Activities begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and end at 5 p.m.. Sunday hours are from noon until 5 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased at The Pavilion Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. or at the door the days of the festival. The Box Office is located at Box Office is located at The Pavilion’s north entrance at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands.

Families are welcome to bring picnic lunches to the Children’s Festival, but cannot bring beverages.
