Hear the story of a man who risked his life to flee from the tyranny of Communist Cuba — Rafael Cruz (father of Senator Ted Cruz) — who is the keynote speaker for Montgomery County Eagle Forum’s banquet, Nov. 14, at River Plantation Country Club.
One can only imagine how Pastor Cruz felt when he first set foot on American soil, after fleeing the tyranny of Communist Cuba, penniless and speaking very little English! Though his odds against him were formidable, he allowed nothing to shake his determination to find a better life. Though he spoke very little English, he soon got a job as a dishwasher making 50 cents an hour, and managed to work his way through the University of Texas while learning English.
Today, Pastor Cruz is a passionate voice for 21st century freedom in America for Christianity, and leadership through Biblical truth. Worried about the decline of our religious and personal freedoms, Pastor Cruz believes that for far too long preachers in America have hidden behind their pulpits as social change has ripped our society apart.
Mr. Cruz says the church at large has remained silent, and his simple question is this:
“How long are we going to remain silent?”
Montgomery County Eagle Forum invites you to join them at River Plantation Country Club from 6 until 9 p.m., Nov. 14, for Dinner with Rafael Cruz, who will speak on “Silent No Longer — Revival and Godly Change Must be Led by Pastors and Church Leaders in America.”
Limited seating is available, and advance purchase is required. Tickets, which are $50, will not be available at the door. Contact Barby Murdock at 936-525-0902 or Betty Anderson at 281-364-8788 to purchase tickets or for additional information.
Americans are increasingly questioning and resisting the endless growth of the federal government, the endless attacks on our Judeo/Christian faith, and the never-ending efforts to promote ungodliness and remove God from our land.
For that reason, Montgomery County Eagle Forum urges citizens to take advantage of every possible opportunity to become informed citizens … to become more involved in influencing Constitutional legislation … to vote responsibly and to halt the rapid progress of our Republic’s tumbling into the dust bowl of history to join other great nations that have blindly embraced the deceit of “Big Government”!
